About CALQEVA

Smart Tools. Simple Answers. That is the whole idea, and it shapes every decision on this site.

What we are building

CALQEVA is a platform for smart, simple digital tools — not a single calculator, and not a single category. We started with 21 calculators, converters and everyday utilities because they are the tools people reach for most often, but calculators are the entry point, not the ceiling. As the platform grows into new kinds of tools, the same standard applies to every one of them.

Each tool is designed to answer a real question quickly, and then to explain itself: the method it uses, what each input means, a worked example, and honest notes about where the result might differ from what a bank, employer or official source will tell you.

Most tool sites stop at the number. We think the number is only useful if you can see how it was reached and where its limits are. That is why every page carries an explanation written for a person, not for a search engine.

How it works

Every calculation runs in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you type into a calculator is transmitted to a server, stored in a database or attached to an identity. There is no account to create and no login. If you close the tab, the numbers are gone. The one exception is the optional feedback form on each calculator page, which only ever sends anything if you choose to press send — see the privacy policy for exactly what that involves.

This is a deliberate architectural choice rather than a policy promise. The calculators have no backend to send data to. You can load a page, disconnect from the internet, and the tools will still work.

How we keep things accurate

Financial and mathematical formulas are implemented from their standard published definitions and covered by automated tests that check them against known values. Rules that change over time, such as income tax slabs, GST rates and scheme limits, are stored as versioned data separate from the calculators, so they can be updated quickly and the applicable year can be shown on the page.

We do not publish invented statistics, fake reviews, testimonials or expert credentials. Where a result is an estimate, we say so. Where a rule varies by state, employer or institution, we say that too. Our editorial policy sets out the standards in detail.

How the site is funded

CALQEVA is free to use and supported by advertising. Ads are kept out of calculator inputs and results, are labelled where they appear, and never dressed up to look like a result or a recommendation.
