UPI QR Code Generator

Create a UPI payment QR code with a fixed amount. When someone scans it with GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM or their bank app, your name, the amount and your note are already filled in, so they pay exactly what you asked for. Download a ready-to-print payment card.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter your UPI ID exactly as it appears in your UPI app, for example yourname@okaxis.
  2. Enter the name the payer should see and the amount to collect.
  3. Add an optional note such as an order number, so you can match the payment later.
  4. Scan the code once with your own phone to check it, then download the payment card to print or send on WhatsApp.

Formula

upi://pay?pa=UPI ID&pn=Name&am=Amount&cu=INR&tn=Note

pa
payee address: the UPI ID that receives the money
pn
payee name shown on the payer's screen
am
amount in rupees with two decimals, pre-filled for the payer
cu
currency, always INR
tn
optional transaction note shown in both payment histories

This is the standard UPI deep-link format defined by NPCI, recognised by all UPI apps.

Worked example

A tutor wants students to pay a monthly fee of ₹1,500 to tutor@okicici with the note October fee.

  1. UPI IDtutor@okicici
  2. Amount₹1,500.00
  3. UPI linkupi://pay?pa=tutor@okicici&pn=Tutor&am=1500.00&cu=INR&tn=October%20fee

Students scan the printed card and see ₹1,500 for October fee already filled in, then confirm with their UPI PIN.

How a fixed-amount UPI QR code works

A UPI QR code is a standard UPI payment link written as a QR image. The link carries your UPI ID, your name, the amount and the currency. When the payer scans it, their app opens a payment screen with all of those details pre-filled, and they only need to enter their UPI PIN.

Because the amount is part of the code, the payer does not type it. That removes the most common mistakes: a missing zero, a wrong amount, or paying the wrong person.

Is the amount locked for the payer?

Most UPI apps show the amount from the QR code as fixed and do not let the payer change it. However, NPCI leaves the final behaviour to each app, and a few apps still let the payer edit the amount on personal (non-merchant) UPI IDs.

If you need an amount that can never be changed, ask your bank or a payment provider for a merchant QR code. Those are digitally signed for your business. For shops, tuition fees, rent, events and invoices, a fixed-amount QR from this tool covers most everyday needs.

Good uses for a fixed-amount UPI QR

Anywhere the price is known in advance:

  • Fixed-price items at a shop counter, stall or exhibition
  • Tuition, coaching, gym or society maintenance fees
  • Event and workshop tickets
  • Invoices and quotations, by adding the QR image to the PDF
  • Collecting a split bill from friends on WhatsApp

Things to keep in mind

  • The QR code is made in your browser. CALQEVA never receives your UPI ID, and no payment passes through this site.
  • Money goes directly from the payer's bank to the account linked to your UPI ID.
  • Always confirm a payment in your own bank or UPI app. Do not rely on a screenshot shown by the payer.
  • Personal UPI IDs may have daily limits on how many payments they can receive; check with your bank for business use.

Frequently asked questions

Can the person paying change the amount?

In most UPI apps the amount from the QR code is shown as fixed. Behaviour is decided by each app, though, and a few allow editing on personal UPI IDs. For a guaranteed locked amount, use a signed merchant QR code from your bank or payment provider.

Which apps can scan this UPI QR code?

Any UPI app, including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, Amazon Pay, CRED and bank apps, because the code uses the standard NPCI UPI payment link.

Is it safe to share my UPI ID in a QR code?

A UPI ID can only receive money; nobody can take money from your account with it. You should still never scan a QR code to receive money, and never enter your UPI PIN unless you are the one paying.

Does the QR code expire?

No. It keeps working as long as your UPI ID is active. To charge a different amount, generate a new code.

Does CALQEVA charge any fee?

No. The tool is free and the payment goes straight between banks over UPI, so CALQEVA never touches the money.
