Frequently asked questions
Why is my in-hand salary lower than CTC divided by 12?
CTC includes amounts you do not receive each month, such as the employer's PF contribution and gratuity, and your own PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted from what remains.
Which tax year do the salary calculators use?
They use the income tax slabs for Tax Year 2026-27 (FY 2026-27). The tax rules are stored separately from the calculator so they can be updated quickly after each Budget.
