White Background Photo

Change the background of your photo to plain white, off-white or light blue for passport, visa, ID card and exam forms. A small AI model finds the person on your own device, so the photo is never uploaded. Crop to passport or exam size and download.

फ़ोटो का बैकग्राउंड सफ़ेद कैसे करें

  1. 1ऐसी फ़ोटो चुनें जिसमें सिर्फ़ आप हों और चेहरा कैमरे की तरफ़ हो।

How to use this tool

  1. Choose a photo of yourself: one person, facing the camera, in good light.
  2. Wait a few seconds while the person is detected. The first run downloads the model, so it is slower.
  3. Pick a background colour and adjust Edge softness until the hair looks natural.
  4. Choose a size, such as Passport size photo or Exam photo 20–50 KB, then download.

The model runs in your browser using WebAssembly; the photo is not sent anywhere.

Getting a result that is accepted

The AI separates the person well when the photo is clear. For the best result:

  • Stand a little away from the wall so there is no shadow behind you
  • Use even, front-facing light; avoid strong light from behind
  • Keep the whole head and the top of the shoulders in the frame
  • Wear clothes that contrast with the background you want; avoid white shirts on white
  • Zoom in on the After picture and check the edges around hair and ears before using it

White or light blue?

Most Indian forms, including passport and many exam portals, ask for a white or light background. Some ID cards and visas specify light blue or off-white. Always follow the instructions in the notification for your form, then choose the matching colour here.

Some recent exam applications also capture a live photo with your webcam during the form. The tool helps with the uploaded photo; it does not replace a live capture.

Things to keep in mind

  • The photo is processed in your browser and never uploaded to CALQEVA.
  • It is designed for photos of people. Objects, pets and group photos may not work well.
  • Check the official requirements for your form; some also limit file size, which the size presets handle.
  • Needs a recent browser. If it does not work on an old phone, try Chrome or Safari on a newer device.

Frequently asked questions

How do I change my photo background to white for free?

Choose your photo here, keep the White background selected and download. The person is cut out automatically on your device and placed on a plain white background.

Is my photo uploaded to a server?

No. The AI model is downloaded to your browser and runs there, so the photo stays on your device. This is different from most background-removal websites, which upload your photo.

Can I make a passport size photo with a white background?

Yes. Choose Passport size photo under Size. The photo is cropped to 35 × 45 mm proportions (413 × 531 px at 300 DPI) after the background is changed.

Why are the edges around my hair rough?

Hair is the hardest part to separate. Increase Edge softness for a smoother blend, and use a photo with even light and a plain background behind you for the cleanest result.
