PDF का साइज़ कम कैसे करें

  1. 1"Choose a PDF" पर टैप करके अपनी PDF फ़ाइल चुनें।

Only standard JPEG images are recompressed; unusual image types inside the PDF are left as they are.

Worked example

A 6 MB PDF of three phone-scanned pages must be under 1 MB for a portal.

  1. LevelExtreme (for scans)
  2. Pages3 pages rendered at 110 DPI
  3. Result6 MB → about 450 KB

A readable PDF well under the 1 MB limit. Actual savings depend on the scan, so check the size shown before uploading.

Which level should I use?

Pick based on what is inside the PDF:

  • Recommended: documents with photos or charts. Photos are resized to at most 1600 px and re-saved; text stays crisp.
  • Strong: when Recommended is not small enough. Photos go down to 1100 px with more compression.
  • Extreme: scanned PDFs and phone-camera documents. Each page becomes one compressed image at 110 DPI, which is usually the biggest saving, but text can no longer be selected or searched.

Why some PDFs barely shrink

A PDF made from Word or a website is mostly text and fonts, which are already compact; there is little to remove without damaging it. Big PDFs are almost always big because of photos or scans, and those are what this tool compresses.

If the result is not smaller than the original, the tool says so rather than giving you a larger file.

Things to keep in mind

  • Your PDF is compressed in your browser and never uploaded to CALQEVA.
  • Extreme mode makes text unselectable. Keep the original if you need to copy text later.
  • Password-protected PDFs need the password removed first.

Frequently asked questions

How do I compress a PDF to under 1 MB or 500 KB?

Start with Recommended. If it is still too large, use Strong, and for scanned documents use Extreme, which usually gives the biggest reduction. The new size is shown before you download.

Will compressing reduce quality?

Recommended keeps text exactly as it is and only softens large photos slightly. Extreme turns pages into images, so text looks like a good-quality scan and is no longer selectable.

Is it safe to compress bank statements and ID proofs here?

Yes. The file is processed by your own browser and is never uploaded, so it stays on your device.
